❤TW and TH fashion culture❤

Clothing is not only a thing that you use to cover your body or just a function that includes protection of the body against strong sunlight, extreme heat or cold, and precipitation; protection against insects, noxious chemicals, weapons, contact with abrasive substances like people know generally. It’s more than that.
People might know about who you are or what kind of person you are, just by seeing what you’re wearing. It really can tell.

People also decorate their bodies with makeup or cosmetics, perfume, jewely and other ornament; cut, dye, and arrange their head and hair (hairstyle) and sometimes their skin (tattoo, scarifications, piercing). All these decorations contribute to the overall effect and message of clothing.

People wear clothing for functional and for social reasons. Clothing protects the body; it also delivers social messages to other humans.

Social messages sent by clothing, accessories, and decorations can involve social status, occupation, ethnic and religious affiliation, marital status and sexual availability, etc. People must know the code in order to recognize the message transmitted. If different groups read the same item of clothing or decoration with different meanings, the wearer may provoke unanticipated responses.

Now I’m gonna talk about what do Taiwaneses clothing, their styles. What style do they like to dress up? Although it doesn’t have to be the same but basically we can say that they are influenced

from the same thing. As I do know and notice, most of Taiwanese like to dress like Japanese; Japanese style. It’s not only about clothing that they follow Japan, but also the life-style, technology, and so on. The most obvious thing that you can see is from girls. They like to wear cutely stuffs like so girly, dolly, and extremly sweet. They call that ‘Kawaii’ style. Kawaii is a japanese word means cute, so kawaii style is a cute style. Everything that can make you be cutier, that’s a concept. Besides another thing you can see obviously that it’s really from japan is the way they make up.They do make up a lot, especially their eyes. They believe that eyes are the most important part. I’m really surprised when I see Taiwaneses are with the big round eyes. I kept asking like don’t they have to have small eyes? How come their eyes are so big? Because I did believe for long time that Taiwaneses’ eyes are small. But not for long, I found out the answer, their eyes are really small actually, but they do have a plenty of ways and spend with some minuets to make it’s bigger and rounder. It’s so interesting.

Different from my country; Thailand, we do prefer to follow Korea. In these days as you can see, everything is about Korean. We like to dress like Korean style. Actually, it’s start with the Korean dramas, bands, and etc. that really have influences on Thai teenagers. Korean style is more like natural, comfortable, but looks modern and fashionable in the same time. Almost everything if it’s told that is from Korean, it’ll sell good even it’s really totally same as another. “if you want to sell quick and well, you just have to say ‘it’s from Korea, now in Korea this one is so popular’ that’s it” one of the clothing shop owner in downtown said. Or it may can sell more expensive than the one that does not label “made in Korea”. From what I’ve seen, most of the customers don’t do care so much about is it really from Korea or not? They just care about the pattern and style. If it’s like what Koreans wear, it’s ok then. However some people still bother about the word “made in Korea”? and because of this word, some prefer to pay more like hundreds to get the exactly same thing except those word.

As you can see, to be a fashionable person doesn’t have to wear an exactly thing that it’s told
“fashion”. We don’t want to be the one who is same as another thousands. Following fashion is not wrong, if you can make that to be yours. “Korean style” doesn’t have to be same for everyone. You can show who you are and still can where what you like, I’m sure of that. Remember whoever you are, whatever you wear, it depends on you, not on others or on the word of “wanna be fashionable”.

♡INTERVIEW♡

I did interview the shopowner whose own the fashion clothing in Shilin Night Market, Taiwan and in Siam Square, the most famous place for teenagers in Bangkok, Thailand.

Lily, the seller of the clothings shop in Shilin Night Market said Taiwanese like to dress Japan styles, it’s might because as you can see on medias, most provide about Japan things. There’s not much about Korean or where else. So Japan styles is the most influence to Taiwaneses than another. However, whether Japanese or Korean styles, there’s not much different actually. It’s almost same. And about the make up style, she thinks it’s might because Taiwanese doesn’t have perfect eyes, so basically they have to do make up a lot to cover it. But this doesn’t mean for all, some still prefer not to do any make up too. “it depends on person like the personality, not fashion” she said.

For Thailand, I interviewed the shop owner in downtown, her name is p’Da. She told me that whatever it is, if you said it’s from Korea it’ll be easier to sell. Since the beginning teenager is the easiest age to buy things and now it’s easier because of “made in Korea”. She said “if you want to sell quick and well, you just have to say ‘it’s from Korea, now in Korea this one is so popular’ that’s it”. I asked her about is it really from Korea? She answer me that most of them are not from Korea, but the customers won’t check so it doesn’t matter. It’s marketing trick.

All of this, what I’ve done, it’s really good to me. Honestly, I’m kind of that teenagers who prefer ‘made in Korea”. So now whenever I’m gonna buy something, it reminds me that it dosen’t matter about those word. I’ll think twice. I’ll think about the quality, not the “made in Korea”. More or less I hope this article will be useful to you too.
